The conversation of privilege is on everyone’s lips. So much so that it has infiltrated the spiritual realm and is now being questioned in regard to law of attraction, manifestation, and the laws of the universe. When people are struggling with the concept of privilege in the world and seeing groups of people given certain privileges over others it may be a natural concern that those same principles extend to spirituality as well. I would like to share with you the information I have received on the conversation which includes both spiritual and Biblical context.
In The Beginning
The Bible tells us that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” Genesis 1:1, and that he created the sun and moon, night and day, trees, flowers, mountains, fowl, beasts, and every living creature on this earth. On the sixth day God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1: 26-28.
God created Man (and Woman) and gave us dominion over the earth. Take a moment and let this sink in because if you are reading this, the chances are you are either unaware of, or not fully exercising that dominion. From the beginning of life itself, we have had the authority given to us by God Himself, to exercise dominion over the earth and every earthly creation.
The moment all of that changed was when Adam ate of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil at the beginning of Genesis. “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened.” (Genesis 3: 1-7)
The Bible calls it The Devil or Satan. Some call it the enemy or in spirituality and psychology, it is referred to as The Ego. Regardless of the name of which you give it, the fact remains the same; the moment Adam ate of the fruit he surrendered his authority to the serpent and it became the god of this world. 2 Corinthians 4:4 confirms this by saying “In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not.”
The God of this world is not God himself, but the devil or ego. Many people are beguiled by this and believe that God created the world so it must be his world but it is not and that is a critical error to begin with. If you believe this is God’s world and that God is responsible for its happenings than you’re confusing the work of God and the work of the devil.
“God is love” states John 4:8.“God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.” says Job 36:5. Psalms 94:22 states “the Lord is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge.” And Psalms 116:5 says “Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.”
If God is grace, mercy, love, our refuge, strength, wisdom, and so much more, how can he be responsible for sickness, infirmity, death, destruction, pain, and suffering?
Mark 3:24-25 Jesus tells us “If a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Therefore, how could God be doing the devil’s work?
God is not causing sickness and suffering, he is the deliverer of them. Out of ignorance people believe otherwise but our ignorance is the enemy’s advantage. If people believe God is responsible for this world and all of the suffering in this world then they will always submit believing it is God’s will that they are sick and in poverty! By differentiating what is God’s work and what is the work of the enemy, we can begin to reclaim our authority.
Is LOA is a Privilege?
LOA is a privilege, to EVERYONE as spiritual beings. It is part of the reclaiming of the dominion God gave us when he created Adam. Everything Jesus did was the practice of manifestation through the understanding of his authority given to him by God. Teachers such as Esther Hicks refer to this as “The Vortex” which means getting into alignment with Source and in Bible talk refers to getting into alignment with God’s will. When we are in that alignment and understand our authority, we create manifestations into a physical reality. When we are in alignment with ego or “The Devil,” we create more of that into our reality in the appearance of sickness, poverty, trauma and hardships.
Do We Attract Our Adversity?
Anytime these conversations arise there are always questions about abuse, poverty, and other tragic events. People ask, “Did I attract my abuse as a child through the Law of Attraction?” Sometimes people ask about the starving children in Africa, “Is this their karma?” or “How could they have attracted these circumstances prior to being born?”
Remember, this is not God’s world, it is an ego-based illusion. We all come into this world willing to overcome this world, just as Jesus did. That doesn’t mean we all choose to overcome the world and become enlightened when we get here, it only means we are willing to. That doesn’t mean starving children in Africa manifested their experience through karma, but it does mean they have the power and authority to overcome it with spiritual solutions.
Somethings are a cause and effect such as speaking negatively about finances will create more negativity in finances. However, sometimes circumstances arise simply because it is an ego-based world and we are given an opportunity to exercise and reclaim our authority.
Is LOA a Privilege of Circumstance?
It may appear as though one human being has more privilege than another but that is only worldly appearances and the world is an ego-based illusion. The truth, meaning the truth of God, Truth of Spirit, Source, Universe, whatever you want to call it, is that we are ALL created equally and that while we may have adversity or hardships, we are all privilege to our divine inheritance as spiritual beings.
Does that mean it appears fair in human form? Nope. But the more we focus on separation thoughts such as, “This person had it worse so they are not privileged to the same spiritual gifts” means ego is winning BIG TIME.
The ego lies we are born into are not the determining factor in our destiny or what we are privileged to as divine beings. People who know this in their conscious or unconscious will claim that divine privilege and do more in their lives. Some people will say it can’t be done, that there are exclusions or limitations, but God is not limited to anyone, anything or any circumstances in this world. God can do more than the president, than location, than government officials, laws or whatever seeming appearances present themselves. This is the power of Spirit, and it is a privilege to us all. The ONLY limitation is how much WE allow God/Spirit/Source to do. The more we give power to ego by saying things like, “LOA is a privilege to the rich or white,” we have once again segregated and given the authority back to ego.
Every human being can be victim to the egos tricks, ploys, and tactics, but in God, we are not victims. The greatest gift we can give to ourselves and each other is to stand up against the victim mentality and see ourselves and our brothers and sisters as the divine light we are.
Seeing each other as our adversity means we are seeing each other as the victim ego wants us to believe we are. If we are victims then ego will always rule. By seeing ourselves as victors in God, owning our authority, and proclaiming the truth of God in this world, we regain our dominion and slay the ego completely.
Where You May Have Some Difficulty With This
In a world where people are degraded, tortured, or demeaned because of the color of their skin. When we see innocent children being ripped from their parents arms because they have illegally crossed an imaginary line. When we see one race, gender, social ranking, or class appearing to have it all, it can be difficult to digest this. However, I am not asking anyone to spiritually bypass the reality of this world. We cannot ignore the world we live in by keeping our heads in the spiritual sand and say, “There are not victims,” when in this world people are being victimized. We are still spiritual beings have a human experience. But we have to remember that victimization is a quality of ego, and in order to overcome that victimization we have to tap into the divine inheritance that we are all privilege to. Meaning we must do our best not to see others as victims or that they are not privileged to the same spiritual laws and rights that we are all heir to. That doesn’t mean they don’t experience victimization, hardship, or adversity, because in a world created in ego those things happen. However, the most spiritual gift we can give to one another is to see the light within each other and hold that truth when they cannot.
If you see your brother struggling with sickness, hold the truth of their health for them. If you see your sister struggling with poverty, hold the truth of abundance, riches, and prosperity. The more we affirm their victimization the more we create that vibration and do attract more of that into the world.
By seeing ourselves all as privilege to God’s blessings, by acknowledging and owning our authority, and by holding that truth for each and everyone, regardless of all seeming appearances, we rob the ego a platform and mouthpiece to victimize anyone and reclaim the dominion God gave us in the beginning.
To Your Divine Privilege,
