Words are magic, capable of manifesting our thoughts into existence. We each hold the power to use our words to better our consciousness and the consciousness of others or to tear it down. Though better understanding of words and their power we may practice using words that enhance our life, health, mindset, and consciousness. In Hebrew the word Abracadabra means “I create as I speak” and in Aramaic is closely translated to “I create like the word”. Historically it was believed to have healing powers and that by speaking words we could literally create what we were speaking into fruition. Etymology is the study of words, their history and their origin. The word etymology is derived from the Greek word etymologica which means “true sense” and is interchangeable with etymolog(so) which means “studying the true meanings and values of words”. Words have immeasurable value and the words we speak become, or alter, our reality.
The power of words is evident in many cultures and religions. In Jewish folklore The Golem is a creature which is created with earth, such as mud or clay, and brought to life using words. Though stories vary slightly, the methods of bringing the golem to life consist of speaking or writing the words on, or to the figure, to bring it to life. Many rabbis believed in speaking the name of God to the creature, or writing the name of God on a piece of paper and sticking it in its mouth. Alternatively, removing the paper with the written word would destroy it. Other rabbis believed in saying incantations which brought it to life or writing the Hebrew word ‘Emet’, which means truth, on its forehead. Regardless of the variations in how the golem was brought into existence, the belief was that by the use of words, in one form or another, we could bring an object to life.
The Power of Words in The Bible
In The Bible, there are many cases which emphasize the power of words. As early as Genesis it states “God said, ‘Let it be…and there was.” By affirming the word and claiming it to be, it was created. There are also many accounts of Jesus healing with the act of his word.”When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with Devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all who were sick. (Matthew 8:16) Thus, with the use of word, Jesus was capable of casting out their Devils. Matthew 8:2 it states, “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying,’Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.’ And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, ‘I will; be thou clean.’ And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Words on Water
There have long been studies on the effects of negative words on living things. Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese author, researcher, and entrepreneur was one of the first people to back these claims with scientific evidence with his experiments and first book, ‘The Hidden Messages of Water.’ His experiments consisted of placing water in glasses and directing words, music and pictures at the water. The water was then frozen and photographed with microscopic photography, and the results are a palpable contrast.
The water that was exposed to beautiful music, loving words, and pleasing pictures became beautiful crystal formations while the opposing water that was exposed to rude, aggressive, mean words, and profanity, became “ugly” and rough, crystal formations. With our bodies consisting of approximately 60% water, and approximately 70% of the earth surface being covered in water, imagine what these low vibrational words do to our body and planet.
Here is a video that exhibits some of Dr. Emoto’s experiments:
How Words Affect The Body
One of the most commonly misunderstood and misused uses of words is in regards to the human body and health. When we speak ill of our health, we become ill, when we invest in negatively condemning our body it manifests aches, pains, and sickness. Sickness is the manifestation of ill words and thoughts and has the power to be eliminated through the use of positive words and affirmations. The definition of the word ill is; evil; wicked; bad, hence when we become ill it is from the persistent use of evil, wicked and bad thoughts and words. Have you ever noticed that negative thinking people seem sick and tired more frequently?
Even upon the appearance of ill health, we should never affirm its power by fostering its existence. As sickness is created by ill thoughts and words, so can it be eliminated with clean, holy, and positive thoughts and words. Affirmations are a commonly discussed sentiment for creating what one desires, but they are more than simple phrases we speak continuously with intention. Affirmations are words we speak even without thought that become intention and manifest into our lives. The word affirmation means “to make firm” therefore every word you speak is an affirmation that either raises or decreases your vibration. One may affirm their sickness prior to, or even during a spell, but most people do not affirm their health. When “evil” is given foundation it will build a house upon it. We must refuse its architecture even after it has been built by affirming positive words and thoughts. All disease starts in the mind and is brought to life through the mouth. As stated in Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Our health, wealth and well being all reside in our tongue, the words we speak, and the words we affirm. By speaking high vibrational words and affirming that which is Truth, we gain dominion over our affairs and our body.
Our body acts as an inventory of our thoughts and words, storing the vibration of each word in our cells. When positive words are spoken our cells thrive but when negative words are spoken our cells are broken down and under attack. Through negative affirmation, our cells become weak making space for the illusion of sickness. As famous occultist Manly P Hall states, “All things manifesting in the lower worlds exist first in the intangible rings of the upper spheres, so that creation is, in truth, the process of making tangible the intangible by extending the intangible into various vibratory rates.”
This concept may seem confusing as some negative people appear to stay healthy longer than would seem possible. The reason is that as human beings with a predisposition for Christ Consciousness, we countervail our essential nature as souls when we engage in pessimistic or unaffirmative tongues. Because of this, it may take years for the results to manifest but eventually, with enough negativity, Abracadabra, our thoughts and words are created in the appearance of sickness, lack, or loss of material wealth.
Even if we let sickness get a foothold, we still have the power to suffocate it by changing our thought patterns and words. Our negativity is the air that it breaths and by removing its sustenance we have the power to eliminate it from our body. It is never too late and we are never too far gone to accept God’s vitality or affirm words of Truth!
In more recent time people have begun to argue that it’s not what we say, but how we say it that gives the word meaning and that using profanity in public or even business, is harmless, but this is a falsity. Each word has a vibration and frequency unique to itself which, and as a collective, we share in. By one person, or even many people, deciding a word has no meaning or has a different meaning than it’s original or intended purpose, does not make it so. Attempting to use curse words even in positive situations, casts a negative aura upon them.
The word Curse means:
- The expression of a wish that misfortune, evil, doom, etc., befall a person, group, etc
- A formula or charm intended to cause such misfortune to another.
- The act of reciting such a formula. a profane oath; curse word.
By using curse words one is literally speaking malicious oath or promise. It’s intended purpose is to curse those it is spoken to so despite innocent intentions using curse words and profanity is casting negativity onto those who speak it and those receptive to receiving the curse. We as a collective have hundreds and thousands of years worth of energy invested into such words and attempting to use those words in a positive fashion is not congruent vibrationally. By speaking negative or low vibrational words or curse words, we do not change the structure of its cells. It is actually a way of the ego keeping its stranglehold through our own ignorance. We are speaking words that affirm and feed its existence believing it to be an authentic way of speaking but using them is only authentic to ego itself.
A study was conducted by the Spiritual Research Foundation, which showed the negative effects of swearing on the human body. Mrs.Yoya Vallee is a highly powerful psychic and subtle artist. She is hearing and speech impaired and has the ability through her sixth sense and art to draw the spiritual dimension which she sees as we do the physical dimension. Mrs. Vallee, a member of the Spiritual Research Foundation, was asked to draw a graph which showed the effects of swearing on the body. The picture included: a block on the heart, distressed energy, distressing energy in the heart chakra, and how that distressing energy flows into the environment surrounding the person who is swearing. Much like the studies done on water and plants, the negative effects of swearing are pernicious.
Here is a copy of the graph presented by the Spiritual Research Foundation:
When we swear, we are feeding our egos. It is a false sense of empowerment, moxie, or even a fake sense of stress relief similar to drinking alcohol, doing drugs or smoking cigarettes. Many smokers report feeling relaxed while smoking but in reality, nicotine induces a short-term rise in blood pressure and heart rate. Similarly, profanity may appear to give some resolve but is only a momentary feeling of relief that is an underlying contribution to our anger, ego, and ultimately, your stress.
Here is an excerpt taken from the Spiritual Research Foundation article:
“From a spiritual perspective, common intentions behind swearing such as seeking attention or expressing negative feelings draw us away from God towards the Great Illusion (Māyā). In addition, our spiritual research has shown that the bad words themselves attract distressing energy. Just as the Name of God attracts Divine frequencies, these bad words attract spiritually negative frequencies. This means that even saying them without any underlying intention has a spiritually negative effect.”
In witchcraft, sorcery or spell casting, it is not how one speaks, but the words they speak that make the spell. Spells and magic appear in every religion including; Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Paganism and Hoodoo, and in various cultures including ancient Egypt which has various books and scriptures that contain spells such as The Book of The Dead. Some of these spells include ritualistic activity but it was the words spoken that consummated the spell, not the tone. Using curse words or negative low vibrational words is counteractive to positive living regardless of the manner in which they are spoken.
For those looking to integrate spirituality into their lives and raise their vibration, watching words is a paramount advancement in awareness. There is a quote by an unknown author, “The human tongue is a beast that few can master. It strains constantly to break out of its cage, and if it is not tamed, it will run wild and cause you grief.” It is a truly high conscious way of living to monitor one’s words and speak only with love and kindness from a place of Christ Consciousness as opposed to ego. It requires a constant personal inventory, self-examination and personal honesty that may even at times be uncomfortable. When we begin monitoring our words we have the opportunity to observe the feelings they are birthed from and heal any triggers that are activated. Each day is a constant reminder to only speak words congruent with the frequency from which we thirst to live and like magic, Abracadabra, create it as we speak.
